What happens to the edits and posts made by a 'Content Editor' in Webflow if their account is removed?
When a 'Content Editor' account is removed in Webflow, the edits and posts made by that user will not be deleted from the website. However, the ability to make further edits or create new posts will be revoked for the 'Content Editor'. Here is what happens to the edits and posts:
Existing content remains intact: The content created or edited by the 'Content Editor' will still be visible on the website. This includes any text, images, videos, or other media that the 'Content Editor' added or modified.
Content shows as authored by an unknown user: After the 'Content Editor' account is removed, the content previously attributed to that user will no longer display their name. Instead, it will show as authored by an unknown user or your website's default author.
No further edits or content creation: Once the 'Content Editor' account is deleted, the former user will no longer have access to the website's CMS or the ability to make any changes. They will not able to update existing content or create new posts or pages.
Administrator control over content: As an administrator or site owner, you will retain full control and ownership of all the content on your website. You can choose to reassign the deleted 'Content Editor's' posts to another user or make any necessary edits.
It is important to note that removing a 'Content Editor' account does not remove the content they created or edited. It only removes their ability to continue making changes.
