To remove the CMS (Content Management System) functionality from a template in Webflow, follow these steps:
- Open the Webflow project that contains the template you want to remove the CMS from.
- Go to the "CMS" tab in the project dashboard.
- In the CMS Collections panel, click on the collection you want to remove.
- On the right-hand side, under the "Settings" tab, click on the "Delete Collection" button.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click "Delete" to confirm the removal of the collection.
- Repeat steps 3 to 5 for each collection you want to remove from the template.
- Once all the collections are removed, go to the "Pages" tab in the project dashboard.
- Select the page or pages that use the CMS collections you just removed.
- On the right-hand side, under the "Settings" tab, click on the "Unlink" button in the "Collection" section.
- A confirmation dialog will appear. Click "Unlink" to confirm the removal of the CMS from the page(s).
- Repeat steps 8 to 10 for each page that uses the CMS collections.
- Finally, go to the Designer view and update the elements or components on the template that were using the CMS collections. You can replace them with static content or remove them altogether if they are no longer needed.
Removing the CMS from a template in Webflow will turn it into a static template, with no dynamic content or ability to manage content through the CMS interface. This can be useful if you no longer need the CMS functionality for a particular project or if you want to simplify the template for non-CMS purposes.
